Tonight
Ten for the evening
One to ten. Newest, most watched, highest on the Living Meter. Prime, Disney+, Hulu, Hallmark, Acorn, and Netflix.
Work, and the work is a film about criminals. Admire the refusal to sand it down. Do not admire the life in the film.
The Offer is a workplace story about not letting a committee sand the uncomfortable part off. That is a real virtue in a maker. The uncomfortable part, in this case, is a beautiful portrait of a crime family, and this series is a little in love with having been in the room.
Watch it after The Godfather, not instead of a conscience about it. The courage was the cut they refused. The danger was the life they made look magnificent.
Industry
8/10
Budgets, cuts, a shoot. Making the picture is shown as a job with enemies.
Household
3/10
Marriages and families sit at the edge. The picture eats them.
Piety
2/10
Loyalty is to the movie.
Courage

He keeps the film when saying yes to the notes would be easier.
Republic
4/10
A studio, a crime family interested in its portrait, a city.
Temperance
4/10
The glamour of the set is half the pleasure.
Truth
6/10
It is candid that art this bloody was a fight to release, and that the fight had vanities.
Stewardship

What they hand on is a film. The film's own argument about inheritance is darker than this series likes.
Live historicallyFinish a piece of work you have been softening so it would offend no one. Let it offend.
A serious horse and a silly world. The show knows the difference, and then it sings too long.
Centaurworld puts a horse who knows what a war is into a world that would rather sing. When the show remembers that contrast, it is sharper than the rest of this row. When it forgets, it is the musical. Older children. The question to ask is which world she owes, and whether a song is an answer.
Industry
5/10
She is a war horse with a duty. The new world keeps offering her a distraction.
Household
3/10
No herd of her own. A rider she is trying to return to.
Piety
3/10
The silly world worships comfort. She does not.
Courage
7/10
The errand is to get back to a fight that is not about her feelings.
Republic
4/10
One world is at war and the other refuses to hear it.
Temperance
4/10
Songs, many of them, some of them a real refusal of duty.
Truth
6/10
It tells the truth that a bright place can be a way of hiding.

What she wants to hand on is a return, not a musical.
Live historicallyAsk which world needed her, and which world only wanted an audience.
Some are real stories. Some are reels. Watch one, not the queue. Older children only.
Visions is an anthology, so it does not have one moral. The best shorts are about a master and a student, a village, a debt, a person who lays a weapon down. The worst are a style reel with a familiar sound effect. The desk will not give a single score to nine films and pretend they were one conscience. This score is for the project as it meets a house: uneven, sometimes serious, often a showcase.
Pick a short the way you would pick a story, not a planet. If there is a village and a choice, stay. If there is only a duel, you have seen it.
Industry
5/10
Craft is the studios' craft. Characters sometimes have a trade.
Household
4/10
A few shorts are about a house or a master. Many are not.
Piety
5/10
The Force is treated, in the better ones, as a discipline with a cost.
Courage

Sacrifice shows up. So does posing.
Republic
4/10
Villages appear and vanish with the short.
Temperance
4/10
Beauty is the appetite.
Truth
5/10
The better films tell a true cost. The project does not require it.
Stewardship
4/10
What gets handed on depends entirely on which one you do not skip.
Live historicallyAfter a short, ask what the person gave up. If the answer is nothing, it was a reel.
A funny village with a thin moral center. Watch it awake, or pick a higher name on this shelf.
Agatha Raisin is entertaining, and entertainment is not the measure. She left a loud life and found a quieter one, then made it loud again so she would not have to sit in a house and become someone. The village is charming. Charm is how a story gets out of the questions.
You can watch an episode and laugh and not be harmed, if you know what you are laughing at. You should not hand it to a child as a picture of a good life, because the picture is a woman who wins the room and loses the evening. There are better teachers above this one on the same shelf. If you stay, stay awake, and notice which joke is doing the work of a confession.
Industry
5/10
She is good at publicity. Detection is a talent she spends on being the most interesting person in the room.
Household
4/10
Romance is a series of near-misses. A household is what she moved to the country to avoid and then missed.
Piety
3/10
The village fête is the religion. Reverence would slow the joke.
Courage

She will walk into a room that has decided she does not belong. That much is real.
Republic

Carsely is a actual place with committees and grudges. She mostly uses it as a stage.
Temperance
4/10
Drink, vanity, and the chase are the texture, and the show enjoys them.
Truth
5/10
The culprit is usually found. The truth is rarely what she came for.
Stewardship

Very little is being left to anyone. The next adventure is the point.
Live historicallyNotice one performance you put on so a room will like you. Drop it once this week and see who is still there.
You already have the 1998 measure. A sequel must beat the neighbor test or it is décor.
The offer is return: the house, the aunts' shadow, the women who were told love would undo them. Return can be a real deepening or a brand that learned you would come back for the kitchen. The desk will not invent the new spell. It will apply the old test. Does a violent man get a romantic edit. Do the townswomen still matter more than the chant.
If those fail, stop. The first film's best idea does not need a sequel to stay true.
Industry

Live historicallyDo not need a new curse to remember to stand by your sister.
Clean hands are a real standard. A thriller has to mean them or stop borrowing them.
The poster puts two people under a phrase from the moral life: who can touch this and stay clean. That can be a film about complicity, which this house cares about, or a chase that thought the words sounded expensive. The desk will not invent the smudge.
Hold the phrase either way. It is older than the movie. If the picture treats cleanliness as a naive obstacle for a hero who must get dirty, it is arguing with the phrase and it should be made to argue out loud.
Industry
4/10
A professional mess, perhaps.
Household
3/10
Unknown.
Piety

The phrase is borrowed from a stricter tradition.

Truth

Stewardship
4/10

Live historicallyRefuse a favor that would smudge a duty you already named.
A sister pulling a sister out is the duty. The glamour is the trap. Not for the table.
Devon comes to pull Simone out of Michaela's cliffside house, where every kindness has a price and the staff know the script. A sister who will not abandon a sister is worth scoring. The series spends too much of its beauty budget asking you to want the house anyway. Power over a lonely girl, dressed as wellness and taste, is an old trick.
Grown viewers only. If you watch it, decide in the first hour whether you are watching the rescue or the furniture. Leave when you notice you are watching the furniture.
Industry
3/10
The rich house runs on other people's labor, and the show is dazzled before it is angry.

Live historicallyNotice one place in your own life where charm is doing the work of a rule. Name it.
A woman outgrows a small man. Loud, and not wrong about the wedding.
Susan is about to marry a man who introduces her as an accessory to his career. The meteor is not subtle. Neither is the film. The monsters in the secret facility are the company that actually needs her, and she discovers she is allowed to be large. The groom's proposal to keep her if she can hide it is the villainy that matters.
The alien plot is noise. The useful refusal is hers. A girl can hear it. A man should hear it too.
Industry

Live historicallyDo not marry someone who needs you to stay small.
A family given their people back. The mystery gets louder than the gratitude.
The first hour is a genuine question: if the people you lost walked back in, would you still be theirs? That is worth an evening. What follows is a procedural of omens, and the family becomes the team that solves them. A calling that makes you help a stranger is close to a conscience. A calling that exists to keep a series on the air is not.
Older children can try the opening with you. Do not promise them the ending will be as serious as the premise.
Industry
5/10
Some of them go back to work. The callings keep pulling them out of it.

A second chance is a stewardship. The series keeps spending it on lore.
Live historicallyIf you were given one person back for one evening, decide now who it is, and what you would not waste the hour on.
A jealousy story that remembers the brother is the point. The corporate joke wears thin.
Tim is displaced by a new brother and the film takes his panic seriously, then turns it into a mission they share. The baby-corporation gag is a long commercial for the idea that love is a product line. Ignore the metaphor. Keep the brothers in the backyard at the end, when the suit comes off and a baby is a baby.
Parents will be tired by the middle. The last movement is the one to stay for: there is enough lap if the older child is included.
Industry
5/10
