The Amazing Race
A travel show that rewards stamina and punishes a slow kindness.
At its best a team has to ask a person for help in a city they cannot read, and do a job that person knows. At its usual it is a sprint past those people toward a mat. Endurance is worth admiring. The contempt for the team that stops to be decent is not.
Watch the leg where someone learns a craft for ten minutes. Ignore the leg that exists to make you hate a stranger.
