The mission
Plant what you will never sit under.
Live Historic builds longer time horizons and a felt sense of continuity.
It asks people to see themselves as links in an intergenerational chain of being — one that began before their birth and continues after their death — and to take up the duty of stewarding what they inherited and handing it on.
To live historically is to inhabit that chain consciously.
The virtues it draws on are the ones an American household around 1800 called good: work, a home, piety, courage, ordered liberty, temperance, truth, and something left for those who come after.
The voice is modern. The questions are old.
