Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse

A city, a promise, and a boy who is not ready. The best of the comic-book tiles on this row.

Miles is a son before he is a hero, and the film is unusual for remembering the order. The style is a great deal of style. Under it, a boy with two parents takes up a duty he did not earn and cannot do yet. That is a story worth an older child's evening, beside you. It is not a small child's cartoon, whatever row Netflix filed it in.

The eight

  1. Industry

    6/10

He studies, and the study is not a montage he can skip. The power does not excuse the homework.

  2. Household

    7/10

A mother and a father who are present, strict, and the reason he might become reliable.

  3. Piety

    4/10

With great power is a duty. The film treats it as a duty, not as a slogan it is winking at.

  4. Courage

    8/10

He goes back in after he has already failed, for people who will never know his name.

  5. Republic

    7/10

Brooklyn is a place, not a backdrop. He owes the block.

  6. Temperance

    5/10

The picture is loud. The moral is not an appetite.

  7. Truth

    7/10

Failure is on the screen. He is not secretly already the best.

  8. Stewardship

    7/10

What he is handed is a job that continues after the person who had it.

Live historicallyAsk what he owed his father, and whether the mask made that debt smaller or larger.

Horton Hears a Who!

A person who keeps a promise to someone no one else can see. The promise is the movie.

Horton's line is the right line, and the film is built to arrive at it rather than to decorate it. The comedy is louder than Seuss, and some of it is only noise. The noise does not cancel the promise. A child can watch this. Afterward say the sentence without the elephant, and ask who in the child's own life is easy not to hear.

The eight

  1. Industry

    5/10

He carries them. The carrying is the work.

  2. Household

    4/10

The Whos are a city of families. He is their only outside help.

  3. Piety

    5/10

A person is a person no matter how small. The line is a moral law, and the film means it.

  4. Courage

    8/10

He is mocked, threatened, and he does not set the speck down.

  5. Republic

    7/10

A whole people depends on one creature keeping his word.

  6. Temperance

    6/10

Broad comedy around a sentence that is not broad.

  7. Truth

    8/10

The small voices are real. The film takes their side against the crowd.

  8. Stewardship

    8/10

What he hands on is a people that continues because he would not move.

Live historicallySay the line, then act on one person in the house who is easy to talk over.
