Blippi

Real places, real machines. The volume is the tax, and the child is talked at.

Blippi's one virtue is that he takes a child to a real job and names the parts. That is not nothing on a row of fantasies. The voice is a product, the wonder is performed, and a parent is not required because the host has replaced one. Use an episode when the child is asking how a truck works. Do not use him as the company in the room.

The eight

  1. Industry

    7/10

He shows how a thing is built and what the worker does.

  2. Household

    3/10

No family. A host and a camera.

  3. Piety

    3/10

Curiosity is real. Reverence is not the point.

  4. Courage

    3/10

    Nothing is risked.

  5. Republic

    4/10

A job site is treated as worth a visit, which is more than most shows manage.

  6. Temperance

    4/10

The pitch is relentless. A child is wound up on purpose.

  7. Truth

    6/10

The excavator is an excavator. He does not lie about the machine.

  8. Stewardship

    5/10

A child may leave wanting to know how something works.

Live historicallyTake the question he raised and answer it at a real place, even a small one.

Dream Productions

Work, and a clever room. Thinner than the film it came from. Optional.

Inside Out already said that a girl needs Sadness in the room. This spins off the industrial metaphor: a studio, a director, a product that is someone else's night. The jokes are about show business. The girl is the audience of her own unconscious, which is a strange reversal.

You can watch it after the films if the house liked them. Do not let the studio become the character. The person asleep is the character. If the series forgets her, it is only a workplace comedy with better patents.

The eight

  1. Industry

    7/10

A crew with call times, notes, and a product due by morning.

  2. Household

    4/10

The family is offstage. The dream is about them, sometimes.

  3. Piety

    2/10

    None.

  4. Courage

    4/10

Professional risks. Little that costs a life.

  5. Republic

    3/10

    An office.

  6. Temperance

    5/10

Ego of directors, played as the obstacle.

  7. Truth

    6/10

The dream has to tell her something true enough to sleep on.

  8. Stewardship

    4/10

What is handed on is a mood, not a memory she chose.

Live historicallyAsk a child what they dreamed and do not turn the answer into a lesson unless they do.
