Judy Justice

A small court on television. Better than a vigilante, thinner than a real docket.

Small claims is one of the last places a citizen can walk in with a receipt and get an answer. Filming it adds mugging and a winner's edit. Still, the receipt matters. Children can see that a promise about money is a fact.

Watch one. Do not let the bench become a personality you quote at your own table.

The eight

  1. Industry

    5/10

People come with contracts, deposits, and jobs. The dispute is often about work.

  2. Household

    3/10

Families sue each other. The show has little interest in the repair.

  3. Piety

    2/10

    Procedure without a higher law.

  4. Courage

    3/10

They show up and accuse in public.

  5. Republic

    6/10

A court, not a fight. That is the civic good of the format.

  6. Temperance

    5/10

Greed is on the stand and often loses.

  7. Truth

    6/10

Someone has to say what happened to the money.

  8. Stewardship

    3/10

The judgment ends the episode and rarely mends the relationship.

Live historicallySettle a small debt or a borrowed thing in your own life with the same plainness.

Home: Adventures with Tip & Oh

A friendship and a roof. Mild, silly, short. Fine in small measure.

Tip already saved the world in the film. The series is wiser to ignore that and watch a girl get an alien through a Tuesday. The jokes are broad. The kindness is simple enough for a young child.

One or two, with you in the room. A queue of them is only bright noise.

The eight

  1. Industry

    3/10

Oh tries human tasks and fails. The failure is the joke, not a craft.

  2. Household

    6/10

A mother, a daughter, a guest who has to learn the house.

  3. Piety

    2/10

    None.

  4. Courage

    3/10

Small bravery: school, a neighbor, telling the truth about a mess.

  5. Republic

    3/10

    A suburb of gags.

  6. Temperance

    7/10

Gentle. The embarrassment does not last.

  7. Truth

    5/10

The alien is ignorant, not wicked. The show usually corrects him.

  8. Stewardship

    4/10

A habit of making room for someone who does not know the rules yet.

Live historicallyLet a child explain one house rule to a guest, patiently. Then stop the episode.
