Hollywood Arts

A school for being looked at. The lesson is appetite, dressed up as a class.

The logline is the review. An old student of Hollywood Arts comes home to teach, and the conflict is her hunger for stardom set beside the children who want the same thing. That is not a school. It is a pipeline. Talent is real. Aiming it at being seen, and filming the aim for a new set of children, is the part a house should refuse.

Not a harmless kids' musical. If it is already on, watch the episode where someone is praised and ask what they were praised for.

What they hand the next class is the same thirst.

Live historicallyIf a child wants to perform, give her a song for people who know her, not a school whose name is the prize.

Emily in Paris

A pretty commercial. A bad account of work, love, and a place.

Emily Cooper is not wicked. She is empty in a way the show has mistaken for fizz. A job that exists to inflame wanting, a city used as a backdrop, and a trail of half-attachments presented as a life. It is bright, short, and instructive only as a negative.

Do not give it to a daughter as a picture of going abroad. Going abroad is for learning a place. This is for being looked at in one.

The eight

  1. Industry

    4/10

She works in advertising, which the show thinks is a charming talent.

  2. Household

    3/10

Romance is a rotation. No one is building a Wednesday.

  3. Piety

    2/10

    The sacred objects are outfits.

  4. Courage

    3/10

Social boldness, spent on brand strategy.

  5. Republic

    3/10

Paris is a set. The French exist to be instructed or seduced.

  6. Temperance

    2/10

    More is the only setting.

  7. Truth

    3/10

The job is to make people want things. The show finds this innocent.

    2/10

    Nothing left behind but posts.
