Set for a grown person, just me. Change the ages.

After the credits

Is a marriage, a parent, or a child a real life here, or just a prop?

The dialogue is the best television writing of its decade, and it is spent on people who cannot tell the truth without a joke that cuts. Logan's empire is a picture of a republic captured by a mood. The children are what a house becomes when love is a performance review.

Watch it, if you are grown, as a warning about inheritance. Do not watch it for the insults. The insults are the trap the show sets and then lives inside. When it is over, the useful sentence is the one it almost will not say: a fortune is not a father.

The eight

  1. Industry

    6/10

They work, in the sense that a court works. The product is influence.

  2. Household

    4/10

The family is the whole plot, and it is incapable of a meal that is only a meal.

  3. Piety

    1/10

Nothing is revered except the father's attention.

  4. Courage

    4/10

They risk humiliation. They rarely risk a real good.

  5. Republic

    3/10

A media company is treated as a private mood with a stock price. The public is the mark.

  6. Temperance

    3/10

The pleasure is the cruelty, perfectly phrased.

  7. Truth

    5/10

Everyone is lying, and the show is honest that the lie is the family style.

  8. Stewardship

    2/10

What they are handing on is the company, and it has already eaten them.

Does anyone here do a real job, and does that job matter?

Carly, Sam, and Freddie making something together in a room is a better picture than a child alone with an app. That is the credit. The debit is that the something is a prank, the guardian is a joke, and the apartment is a world without a parent who can say no. Children like it because it is lively. Lively is not the same as good.

If it is on, watch with them and stop on the episode where someone is actually hurt by the bit. Ask whether the laugh was worth it.

The eight

  1. Industry

    4/10

They produce a show, which is a kind of work, aimed at nothing but the click.

  2. Household

    4/10

A brother is the guardian. He is a child in a larger body, and the show likes him that way.

  3. Piety

    2/10

Nothing is looked up to except the audience count.

  4. Courage

    3/10

The schemes are bold and pointless.

  5. Republic

    4/10

Friends are loyal. The public is a studio audience.

  6. Temperance

    4/10

Gross-out is regular. It is milder than what came after.

  7. Truth

    4/10

It is honest that they are making noise. It calls the noise a career.

  8. Stewardship

    3/10

A childhood spent performing for strangers.
