Pass it on
The Witch
45Watch it awake.
The isolation and the creed are real. The film enjoys the ruin more than the faith.
The review
The speech, the work, and the fear are closer to the seventeenth century than almost anything else on a screen. That accuracy is why it is on this shelf. It is not a reason to put it on for a household. The story spends its care on the undoing.
Adults who want to know what a cast-out Puritan family sounded like can watch it once, awake. Do not hand it to a child as heritage. Heritage that ends in the wood with the devil is a warning, and this film is too in love with the warning.

The glance
Household and Republic and Temperance and Stewardship are the thin ones.
Is a marriage, a parent, or a child a real life here, or just a prop?
This phone is set for a grown person, just me. Change the ages.
Consider this
Other Mommy
55 instead of 45
Other Mommy is still a horror film, and it scores 55 instead of 45. What you gain is household: The child is the stake.
The eight
- 6Industry
They try to farm a bad piece of ground. The work fails in public.
- 4Household
A family, then a family that cannot tell the truth to each other.
- 5Piety
The prayers are the actual prayers. The movie does not believe them.
- 5Courage
The father is proud and frightened. Courage and stubbornness get tangled.
- 3Republic
They have already been put out of the town. There is no neighbor left.
- 3Temperance
The horror is the point of the last act, not a warning the house can use.
- 7Truth
It does not modernize the people into tourists in costume.
- 3Stewardship
Nothing is handed on. The ending is a girl joining what ate her family.
