The episode sitting in the row is Chart-Toppers, which is the whole instruction: sing the thing people already love, and be scored on the copy. There is nothing wicked in it. There is also nothing to come back for except the feeling of a crowd.

Let it finish if someone is in the middle of a song. Do not let a Sunday become a queue of other people's choruses.

Dancing with the Stars

A real discipline, used as a fame machine. The rehearsal is better than the vote.

Is a marriage, a parent, or a child a real life here, or just a prop?

Ballroom is a craft with a hold, a count, and a partner you can injure if you are careless. The show knows this in the rehearsal hall and forgets it on the night, when the costume and the cheer and the celebrity story take the camera. The pros are the workers. The stars are the product. Once in a while a person actually learns, and you can see the difference between effort and exposure.

Adults, as light fare. If a child watches, point at the practice, not the score. A dance is a cooperation. A spotlight is not.

The eight

  1. Industry

  2. Household

Pairs for the season. No house.

    2/10

    None.

  4. Courage

    4/10

    Performance nerves. Little else.

  5. Republic

    2/10

    A voting public.

  6. Temperance

    3/10

Glitter is the point of the broadcast.

  7. Truth

    4/10

The training is true. The tearful package is optional and often not.

  8. Stewardship

    3/10
