50 First Dates

55Or leave it.Not an average of critics. Eight questions, one house.

The joke is cruder than the idea. The idea is care. Watch it for the repeating morning, and skip the bits that exist to be gross.

Can conscience actually stop someone, or is reverence only in the shot so it can be mocked?

Drew Barrymore's Lucy wakes up without the years. Adam Sandler's Henry, who has been a man unwilling to stay, learns to stay where it cannot flatter him, because she will not be collecting the days. Her father has already been living that way. The film surrounds this with the comedy of its year, which means some scenes are simply crude.

Acceptable at thirteen if you are willing to talk over the crude parts and keep the breakfast. Ask what you would do if the person you love could not bank the kindness.

  1. Industry

    5/10

He builds a way for her to meet the day. That is labor, disguised as a rom-com.

  2. Household

    7/10

A father and a brother already doing the care. He joins a house rather than stealing her from it.

  3. Piety

    3/10

    Devotion, not a creed.

  4. Courage

    6/10

Loving someone who will not remember you is a kind of courage.

  5. Republic

    4/10

A family and a cafe. Small, and enough.

  6. Temperance

    4/10

Sandler' s film cannot resist the body joke. The core does not need it.

  7. Truth

    7/10

Memory loss is not a quirk they cure with a speech. They tell her the truth every day.

  8. Stewardship

    8/10

Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius

55Or leave it.Not an average of critics. Eight questions, one house.

A Saturday-morning good. The parents are a little dim, and the boy still goes after them. Fine for the younger ones. Harmless at thirteen.

Jimmy is too clever for his town until the town's parents vanish, including his own, and cleverness without a crew cannot cross a galaxy. The adults are written as fools, which is the cheap habit of the era, and the film still lands on the right want: get them back. A thirteen-year-old is older than the joke. A sibling in the room is the right age.

Put it on for the younger child without a speech. If the older one stays, she can hear the correction.
