Pass it on
TURN: Washington's Spies
59Watch it awake.
A true occupation, a real ring, and more intrigue than a household needs. The courage is the part to keep.
The review
The useful part is the occupation: ordinary people deciding which uniform gets the truth. That is an American founding story the classroom usually tells as speeches. The series tells it as a county. It also pads the county with affairs and revenge until the ring is hard to see.
Adults can watch the early season for the ring and the cost of a lie told to a neighbor. Skip ahead when it becomes a costume thriller. Do not treat every invented quarrel as history.

The glance
Piety and Temperance are the thin ones.
Can conscience actually stop someone, or is reverence only in the shot so it can be mocked?
This phone is set for a grown person, just me. Change the ages.
Consider this
Band of Brothers
71 instead of 59
Band of Brothers is still a war show, and it scores 71 instead of 59. What you gain is industry: Soldiering is a craft with a standard.
The eight
- 6Industry
Farmers, taverns, and a war that still has to be fed.
- 5Household
Marriages and brothers split. The show likes the split.
- 4Piety
Oaths are sworn. Piety is thinner than the plotting.
- 8Courage
They stay in an occupied county and pass paper that can hang them.
- 7Republic
The question is allegiance: crown, congress, or the neighbor with a musket.
- 4Temperance
Violence and bed-politics are used to keep the season going.
- 7Truth
The Culper ring was real. The personal tangles are heightened.
- 6Stewardship
What they hand on is a country that does not exist yet.
