Pass it on
Godzilla
78Worth an evening.
Don't cheer the streets. Stay for the man who dies so the weapon dies too.
The review
Don't cheer the destruction. A creature comes out of the sea after nuclear tests and breaks a city. A scientist has a weapon that could stop it and refuses to leave that weapon for the next war. He dies with it. The American recut added scenes. The weapon and the refusal are still the point underneath them.
This is not a rally. The city is people. He could have saved them and armed the next war, and he will not. I respect that more than I enjoyed the noise. What remains is ruin, and a weapon that was not passed down. If the room starts rooting for the destruction, they have the wrong film. Shut it off.
