Pass it on
Giant
56Watch it awake.
A big film about land, marriage, and the crude turn from stewardship into money.
The review
Giant belongs here because it is about a people who had a way and then struck a fortune that did not need the way. Bick Benedict's pride is a cattleman's pride. Jett Rink's pride is a poor man's revenge with a check attached. The wife is the Easterner who will not pretend the house has no duties to the people it uses.
It is long and theatrical. Watch it for the argument, not the hats. Ask which fortune in your own region replaced a kind of work, and what the children do now that the work is gone.

The glance
Piety is the thin one.
Can conscience actually stop someone, or is reverence only in the shot so it can be mocked?
This phone is set for a grown person, just me. Change the ages.
Consider this
Casablanca
68 instead of 56
Casablanca is still a drama film, and it scores 68 instead of 56. What you gain is republic: A occupied city, and a man who stops pretending it is only a nightclub.
The eight
- 7Industry
The ranch is work, and then the oil is a shortcut that makes the work look old.
- 6Household
The marriage is a real contest between two regional peoples. It lasts.

Little worship. Status does the organizing.
- 6Courage

The shift from cattle to oil is the true American turn, and they show it.
- 6Stewardship
