Tanjiro is kind in a genre that thinks kindness is a weakness to be mocked. He has a job, a master, and a sister he will not give up on. The demons are demons, not misunderstood celebrities, at least at the start. A household has already been destroyed, and the plot is whether any other household will be. That is a sound spine.
The fights become the shelf. They are long, beautiful, and they train a child to need the next clash. Watch the opening with a middle-years child if they are going to find it anyway, and keep the rule: we are here for the sister, and when the show forgets her for the spectacle, we stop.
