Spectacle · A teenager who can close it
Selena Gomez
The illness posts are unusually straight. The rest is still a famous person's day.
Two kinds of posts sit on the same account, and it helps to tell them apart. One is a song, or a bottle of makeup, or a face at an event. The other, rarer, is her saying she has lupus, or that her mind has been hard to live in, without turning it into a punchline. The second kind is a person telling the truth at some cost. That is worth more than the row around her usually manages.
It still is not a friendship. A teenager can like the song and leave the comments alone. The comments are where a stranger's life becomes a place to sit every morning. Play the song if you want it. When it ends, the phone can end too.

The eight
Industry
6/10
She writes and records, and she runs a company with her name on the bottle.
Household
4/10
Friendships and breakups are posted. You are let into a life that is not yours.
Piety
3/10
When she talks about being ill she gives it weight. Most days the feed is elsewhere.
Courage
5/10
She has described her own mind in public when it would have been easier to post a photo.
Republic
4/10
The people reading are a crowd she will not meet.
Temperance
4/10
Less bait than the beauty accounts. Still no reason the scrolling would stop.
Truth
6/10
The sick-day posts are not dressed up as a bit.
Stewardship
4/10
A song can be replayed for years. A look at her Tuesday cannot.
Live historicallyOne song, then the phone down. Do not open the comments under it.
