Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest
A captain sells his soul for a ship, and everyone he smiles at pays a piece of the bill.

An oath broken, played as charm. Spectacle for adults. Not a lesson, and not for children.
Jack Sparrow is appetite with good timing. The film knows he will trade a friend, and it asks you to enjoy the trade. Bootstrap Bill, bound to the Flying Dutchman, is the one human note: a father pressed into a crew forever because of a debt. Everyone else is hunting a chest.
Adults can watch a chase. Do not let a child take Jack as the model of cleverness. Cleverness that will not keep a promise is a kind of piracy even on land. The kraken is not the danger. The smile is.

If you owe a debt, name it to the person you owe. Do not make it romantic.
