Zootopia 2

A partnership and a city that picks its suspect by species. The first film's argument, continued. Worth it.

Judy and Nick are a working pair, which is the right foundation for a sequel: not a romance slapped on, a trust that has to hold under a new case. A reptile is the easy villain in a city that already did this once with predators. The film asks them to do the police work anyway, which means looking at who wrote the story the city is comfortable with.

Good for the family that saw the first and is old enough for a frame-up. Say that a mascot of fear is a political tool. A city that wants a future has to accuse a person, not a kind.

The eight

  1. Industry

    7/10

Police work. Partnership as a job, not a mood.

  2. Household

    5/10

Partners who have become a household of two. The wider families stay offstage.

  3. Piety

    3/10

    A civic conscience.

  4. Courage

    7/10

They stick with the suspect the city wants buried.

  5. Republic

    8/10

A metropolis repeating its old panic against a new neighbor.

  6. Temperance

    6/10

Ambition and fear are the pressures. Procedure is the brake.

  7. Truth

    8/10

The official story is incomplete. The case is the correction.

  8. Stewardship

    7/10

What they owe the next arrival is a city that does not sort by kind.

Live historicallyBefore you repeat a rumor about a kind of person, ask who benefits if you are afraid of them.
