Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

A republic's war, fought by people who do not get the medal. Older teens and adults. Keep it.

Jyn is the daughter of the man who built the death machine and sabotaged it. Cassian has already done dirty things for the cause. The team is not a family in the warm sense. It becomes a company with a task: get the plans out. They die doing it. The film is unusual because it means the death. A war for a future is not a heist with a sequel for the crew.

Not for small children. For a teenager who thinks heroism is a survival, this is the correction. The plans leave. The people stay in the sand. That is stewardship with the romance removed, which is when you can see it.

The eight

  1. Industry

    8/10

A mission with roles. Even the lie and the sabotage are work.

  2. Household

    4/10

A father and a daughter on opposite sides of a weapon. No one is building a home.

  3. Piety

    3/10

Faith in the Force, held by one man, not mocked and not explained.

  4. Courage

    9/10

They go knowing the beach is the end.

  5. Republic

    8/10

An empire, a rebellion, a council that is afraid to act. The film takes the politics as real.

  6. Temperance

    6/10

Cassian's dirtiness is not styled as cool forever. It weighs.

  7. Truth

    7/10

The father's message inside the weapon is the truth that saves strangers.

  8. Stewardship

    9/10

They hand the future to people who will never know their names.
