A prejudice metaphor done as a pep rally. The instinct is kind. The thinking is not.
Zed wears a Z-band that keeps him from being dangerous. Addison wears a wig that hides that she is different too. The town is afraid, the football team is the integration story, and the fear dissolves in a number. Children understand fairness quickly. They also understand, if you let them, that a real risk is not cured by a duet. This film does not let them.
A young teenager can watch it once without harm. Say the missing sentence yourself: welcome people, and keep the rules that protect the small. Both. The film only wants the first.
