Inside Out
A girl moves across the country, and Joy tries to run the whole mind without Sadness.

Sadness is not a malfunction. A family move is not nothing. One of the true ones. Keep it.
Riley's parents love her and are distracted by the move. Joy, inside, believes love means keeping the girl shiny. The film's argument is that Sadness tells the truth, asks for help, and brings the parents back into the room. Bing Bong is a childhood that has to be thanked and left. The control panel is a picture, not a science. The picture is right: a person who cannot be sad cannot be consoled, and a family that only rewards the cheerful report will lose the child.
Watch it together, including adults who think they are past it. Then reward a true report more than a bright one.
