Carrie

Cruelty is the first sin. Her answer is not justice. Do not watch it for revenge.

The girls who torment Carrie are the villains, and the film is unambiguous about the meanness, the mother, the religious terror used as a cage. Then Carrie burns the school, and a part of every audience wants the fire. That want is the second problem. Pity is not a license to become the disaster. The mother is a false piety, harsh and diseased. The true failure includes every bystander who laughed.

Adults only. Do not let a wounded teenager use this as a dream of the prom. The dream is a grave. The correction happened earlier, when someone could have refused the joke.

The eight

  1. Industry

    3/10

A school, a home of punishments. Little honest work.

  2. Household

    2/10

A mother who has made the house a cell. No father in the picture.

  3. Piety

    3/10

Religion as a weapon. The film hates the weapon. It does not offer a truer faith.

  4. Courage

    4/10

She endures, then she slaughters. Endurance was the courage. The slaughter is the fall.

  5. Republic

    3/10

A school that chooses a mob.

  6. Temperance

    2/10

Humiliation and then rage. Neither is governed.

  7. Truth

    7/10

The meanness is shown truly. The catharsis is the lie.

  8. Stewardship

    2/10

Nothing survives the gym that a younger sibling should inherit.

Live historicallyStop one humiliation in a room you actually sit in. Do not applaud the fire.
