Slow Horses
The office lies. The measure is whether they still keep each other.
Season six, in Apple's own line, puts the Slow Horses on the run because Diana Taverner has dealt them into a retaliation. River is burying a grandfather. Lamb and Taverner end in the same unsafe house. The shape of the series, which this season does not reverse, is a group of discarded officers who are better than the office that discarded them, and worse company than a family should have to be.
The measure of this season is the revenge. A service that answers a wound with a game is not a republic, even when the people in the game are good at it. Watch for who is being spent. Do not come away quoting Lamb.
The eight
Industry
8/10
They were thrown out for incompetence and they still do the job. The craft survives the insult.
Household
6/10
Slough House is the only house some of them have. Lamb is cruel and he does not leave them.
Piety
4/10
No creed beyond the work. Loyalty is doing the duty of one.
Courage
7/10
They run, and they go back toward the people the service has spent.
Republic
6/10
The service is a state that lies to its own. They answer to each other when the office will not.
Temperance
5/10
Lamb's filth is the weather. It is not a style a house should pick up.
Truth
7/10
Taverner's game is named as retaliation. The season does not call a revenge a policy.
Stewardship
6/10
The safe house fails. What they are trying to keep is the people in it.
Live historicallyDo not call a retaliation a plan. Name the person it will cost before you start it.
