The competence is real. It is spent on a house that should not be kept.
Harry Da Souza is the man a crime family calls when the night has gone wrong. The Harrigans are at war with another house, and the public story of the series is that he manages the war for them. A daughter of that world is not safe in it. The show knows this and keeps filming the management.
A first measure from the premise, not a brief for every killing in a later episode. Competence does not clean the aim. A house can see the skill and still refuse the lesson that loyalty to a criminal family is the same thing as keeping one. It is the opposite.
The eight
Industry
6/10
Harry is good at the job. The job is keeping a criminal family ahead of the next war.
Household
3/10
A daughter is put in danger by the people he works for. Blood here is a syndicate, not a table.
Piety
2/10
Nothing is owed but the boss. A conscience that can stop the work is not the show's interest.
Courage
5/10
He will threaten the matriarch when the daughter is the one at risk. That threat is the only courage in the premise.
Republic
2/10
A gang is not a people. The city is the territory, not a common good.
Temperance
3/10
Killing is the method, and the hours are built so the audience waits for the next one.
Truth
5/10
It does not pretend they are good. A rotten house shown plainly is more honest than a rotten house dressed as family loyalty.
Stewardship
2/10
What they mean to hand on is an empire of crime. That is not an inheritance. It is a bill.
Live historicallyDo not call a loyalty loyalty if the price is a child.
