A lab is a good place for a controlled test. A heart is not improved by controls the other person did not set.

The desk will not novelize the adaptation's third act. It will keep the objection. If they tell the truth early and the film is actually about the work of science and the risk of liking someone plainly, stay. If the cover story is the charm, you have the objection already.
