Capturing Bigfoot

Curiosity is not a reason to spend the evening on a monster. Skip it until it is a story.

The tile promises a capture. It does not promise a person you are responsible for. Hunt films of this kind flatter the watcher for wanting proof of a thing in the trees, then pay the want off with a chase. That is a thin use of fear and a thinner use of a forest.

If a finished film later shows a crew telling the truth about a fraud or keeping one another, the measure can move. On the poster, it is a trophy. The house does not need the trophy.

The eight

  1. Industry

    3/10

    A hunt, not a craft.

  2. Household

    2/10

    No household on the poster.

  3. Piety

    2/10

    Wonder reduced to a rumor.

  4. Courage

    3/10

Going into the woods is the cheapest bravery.

  5. Republic

    2/10

    No common good.

  6. Temperance

    3/10

    The appetite is the sighting.

  7. Truth

    3/10

A poster cannot be a witness.

  8. Stewardship

    2/10

Nothing to keep but a story you cannot check.

Live historicallyTake a walk in a real wood and leave the rumor there.

Scream 7

Another round of the game. The desk does not need a new reason. The old no stands.

The poster is the mask again, which is the whole offer: you already know the joke, come hear it with a new set of bodies. A sequel of this kind does not discover a new truth about grief or courage. It discovers a new way to keep a paying audience inside a hunt. Sidney's endurance, if she is still the one standing, is the only human fact. The franchise is not obliged to keep spending it.

You have the 1996 measure. This is that measure with a higher number on the poster. Do not clear an evening for it. Do not let a teenager call it a tradition.

The eight

  1. Industry

    2/10

The work is the kill, repeated.

  2. Household

    3/10

Families are the fuel of the motive, not the good.

  3. Piety

    1/10

    The sacred is the joke.

  4. Courage

    5/10

Whoever survives has nerve. The film spends it.

  5. Republic

    2/10

A town as a recurring set.

  6. Temperance

    2/10

Appetite for the scare is the product.

  7. Truth

    4/10

Honest about what it is. That honesty is not a defense.

  8. Stewardship

    1/10

Nothing to hand on but the mask.

Live historicallyIf the mask is in the house as a joke, take it out.
