Barbie
A mother and a daughter are the true thing in it. The joke spends a long time on the other sex.
Gloria and her daughter are doing something the pink world cannot: living in a house where feelings are uneven and a mother is tired. That is worth the ticket. The rest is a bright argument that men are the obstacle, which is an easy hall to fill and a poor map of a kitchen.
See it with the mother-and-daughter scene in mind. Do not let a child take the speech as the whole news about the other half of the house.
The eight
Industry
5/10
The company that makes her is shown as a company. Someone has an office and a quota.
Household
7/10
The story that holds is a woman and her child, not the dreamhouse.
Piety
3/10
No God. A creator who is a toy designer, and she is not enough.
Courage
5/10
She walks out of a world that was built to flatter her.
Republic
4/10
The real world is a boardroom and a street. Citizenship is a punchline.
Temperance
4/10
The satire is the pleasure, and it is broad enough to flatten every man in the frame.
Truth
6/10
It admits the doll was a product sold as a self. That admission is the adult part.
Stewardship
5/10
She chooses an ordinary body and an ordinary future. The sequel-shaped ending is still a commercial.
Live historicallyAsk a daughter what she thinks a woman's work is. Answer with the work you actually saw this week, not with a speech.
