American Psycho

The satire is real. The invitation to enjoy him is the problem. Adults. Do not quote him.

Bateman is what a certain greed looks like when it no longer bothers to impersonate a person. The film is often called a comedy, and the comedy is the colleagues, the cards, the restaurants, the inability to tell one empty man from another. That joke lands. The violence is not the joke. It is the film forgetting it had a point and reaching for a gasp.

You do not need his morning routine in your mouth. The useful line is dull: a life measured by reservations is already over, even if no one is bleeding. Leave the rest in the drawer.

Prom Night II

A possession picture with a dance theme. Adults. Leave it off the calendar.

Mary Lou is a grudge with a corsage. The film enjoys the payback and the teenage bodies it spends to get there. There is no household to defend and no truth the scare is serving. A dance is a public promise that the young will be looked after. This uses the dance as a set.

You already know what a revenge ghost is for. It is for selling another October. The 1976 Carrie measure stands for the cruelty. This one does not even have that argument. It has a queen and a body count.

The eight

  1. Industry

    2/10

A school used as a set, not as work.

  2. Household

    2/10

No parents equal to the night.

  3. Piety

    1/10

    The dead are a gag.

  4. Courage

    3/10

Surviving a set piece is not a virtue the film is interested in.

  5. Republic

    2/10

A school that cannot keep a dance.

  6. Temperance

    2/10

Appetite for the kill is the product.

  7. Truth

    3/10

It is honest that it is a slasher, and that is all it is honest about.

  8. Stewardship

    1/10

Nothing to hand a younger sibling.
