Scream
Clever about a rotten genre, and still a rotten evening. The joke does not wash the blood.
Scream knows the formulas and thinks knowing them is a moral position. It is not. Sidney is a girl who has already been made into a story by a crime, and the film puts her through another one for our entertainment, with better dialogue. Intelligence is not a disinfectant.
Do not put it on. If someone in the house calls it a classic, agree that it is skilled and say no anyway.
The eight
Industry
4/10
It is well made. The craft is a knife.
Household
3/10
A mother is the secret. The teenagers are the body count.
Piety
1/10
Nothing is sacred, and the film is proud of that.
Courage
4/10
Sidney fights back. The fight is the third act of a slasher, not a life.
Republic
2/10
A town is a set to be emptied.
Temperance
1/10
Cruelty, irony, and the invitation to enjoy both.
Truth
4/10
It tells the truth that the audience came to see people hurt. Then it serves them.
Stewardship
2/10
What it hands the next film is a mask and a rulebook.
Live historicallyDecline one film this month that you would only be watching because it is famous.
