Just Add Magic
Magic with a cost. A grandmother, a café, and the rule that you clean up what you cooked.
The cookbook is a wish machine, which is a dangerous toy, and the series is reasonably strict about the bill. A girl who spices a recipe to fix her social life will have to uncook it. A grandmother's past is involved, so the magic is not a toy from nowhere. It is an inheritance with instructions.
Good for the middle years, Louise's age and up. Watch the first wish with them and do not let the wish be the part they remember. The cleaning-up is the part.
