Oppenheimer
The man who built the bomb, and the republic that had to decide what it had made.

Genius, duty, and a stewardship question too big for the man who asked it late.
A republic asked its smartest men for a weapon that ends the argument, and they gave it one. Nolan's film is a character study and, under that, a stewardship crisis. You can be the most useful mind in the country and still have no business being alone with a question that belongs to the living and the unborn.
The marriage is a ruin he keeps stepping over on the way to the blackboard. Count that. Count also the moment the theory becomes a fact in the desert and the cheering starts to sound thin. Watch it for the scale of the responsibility, not for the myth of the indispensable man. Then look at the smaller powers you wield without a hearing.
