YouTube

The library is allowed. The home feed is the part that spends them. Open a named film. Do not open the home screen.

Would you still put it on?

A library and a slot machine, sharing one door.

What it really is

YouTube is not one work. It is a door. A teenager who opens it onto a named lesson, then stops, has used a library. A teenager who opens the home screen has agreed to be programmed by whatever holds him.

The score is for the app as they will actually meet it: recommendations on, autoplay on, the clock somewhere else. Change those and the hour changes. Leave them and the hour is gone.

Live historically

Search for the thing, watch it, and close the app before the next one starts.

The eight

  1. Industry

    6/10

A person can learn a trade here, if they came for the trade.

  2. Household

    4/10

A film watched together is a household. Autoplay in a bedroom is not.

  3. Piety

    4/10

The shelf contains hymns and filth and does not bow to either.

  4. Courage

    5/10

Some of what is posted cost the maker something. Most of the feed did not.

  5. Republic

    4/10

A lecture, a hearing, a how-to: the republic is in there, unsorted.

  6. Temperance

    2/10

The next video starts itself. That is the moral fact.

  7. Truth

    5/10

Anyone can say anything. The title is not the proof.

  8. Stewardship

    4/10

A skill learned on purpose can outlast the app. A binge will not.
