Muse from Meta

A servant that never sleeps is still a servant you did not raise. Not for a teen. An adult may use it on a short leash.

Would you still put it on?

Meta's agent. It does not only answer. It goes and does the errand.

What it really is

Muse is an agent, not a chat. Meta built it to take work off a plate: mail, forms, small purchases, the next step of a plan. That is a real capability, and it is rated for an adult. A teenager who installs the number-one app this week is not hiring a tutor. He is hiring a clerk who does not get tired and does not love him.

If a parent uses it, keep the permissions narrow and read what it sent. Do not put it on a teen's phone. A young person needs to practice finishing his own work.

Live historically

If it is on a teen's phone, remove it. An adult who keeps it allows one task, then checks the result.

The eight

  1. Industry

    5/10

It will do a task. The craft of deciding the task is the part it wants to take.

  2. Household

    3/10

A house that lets an agent book, buy, and write has handed over the keys.

  3. Piety

    3/10

Conscience is outsourced to a permissions screen. That is not a conscience.

  4. Courage

    4/10

It will act when you hesitate. Hesitation was sometimes the right answer.

  5. Republic

    4/10

A private clerk is not a neighbor. It does not answer to the town.

  6. Temperance

    2/10

It keeps working after you close it. Appetite with no closing time.

  7. Truth

    5/10

It can be told to ask before it spends. Verify the ask. Do not trust the tone.

  8. Stewardship

    3/10

What it learns about the house stays on someone else's machine.
