Wheels on the Bus

Kind, clear, and aimed at a toddler. A good twenty minutes. Not a moral education, and it should not pretend to be.

Would you still put it on?

Nursery songs, sung slowly, for a very small child and the adult on the floor with them.

What it really is

For a two-year-old, this is a competent teacher with a kind face. The songs are public and old. The pace respects a child who cannot yet rush. That is more than most of the children's shelf manages.

It will not raise the child. You will. When the song is over, sing it once yourself, badly, in the room. If the only voice who knows the words is the one on the screen, the film has replaced you, and that is the failure.

Live historically

Learn one of the songs and sing it tomorrow without the phone in the room.

The eight

  1. Industry

    7/10

She is doing a job: teaching a small person a song, a word, a gesture.

  2. Household

    8/10

The adult is invited onto the floor. That is the household part, and it is the best part.

  3. Piety

    3/10

No creed, and none is claimed. Kindness is not yet conscience.

  4. Courage

    4/10

Nothing is risked. Nothing has to be.

  5. Republic

    5/10

A child learns to answer a person, which is the start of a neighbor.

  6. Temperance

    8/10

The pace is slow on purpose. It does not whip the child into the next video.

  7. Truth

    7/10

The songs are the old ones. She is not lying about what a bus is.

  8. Stewardship

    6/10

A song can be kept. The screen should not be the one who keeps singing it.
