The Way Home

A house that will not let its women stay estranged. Worth the evening, then the talk.

Would you still put it on?

Three generations of women share a farm, a grief, and a pond that sends them back to the years they mishandled.

What it really is

A daughter comes home angry, a mother has been gone in the ways that matter, and a grandmother is the one still holding the land. The time travel is the hook. The standard does not grade hooks. It grades whether a family tells the truth before the land is lost.

Some hours are a romance with a magical pond. Stay for the hours that are a confession. If you have a silence in your own house that has lasted years, this one will bother you in the useful direction. Watch it, then say the thing. Do not wait for a pond.

Live historically

    6/10

A farm still has to be run. The wonder does not cancel the chores.

  5. Republic

    7/10

  7. Truth

    7/10

The pond is a device. The truth it forces is not.

  8. Stewardship

    9/10

What a woman owes the girl she used to be, and the girl she is raising.
