Depop - Buy & Sell Clothes

Selling what they have outgrown is a fair trade. Scrolling other people's outfits until they want a new self is the feed again. Sell. Do not browse.

Would you still put it on?

A clothes market that is also a mirror. Selling a shirt is work. Becoming the shirt is not.

What it really is

Depop is on the teen chart because clothes and identity got tangled, and because a teenager can make real money. This desk will praise the money if it comes from work: a photograph of a shirt, a price, a parcel, a kept word.

It will not praise an evening of wanting. If they sell, they sell what they own. They do not remodel themselves to match a listing.

Live historically

List three things they already own. No browsing until the parcels are in the mail.

The eight

  1. Industry

    7/10

Pricing, photographing, packing, and mailing a real object is work.

  2. Household

    5/10

Money earned and clothes reused can serve a house. The pose can swallow that.

  3. Piety

    4/10

No creed here. The body is still the advertisement.

  4. Courage

    5/10

Asking a fair price and following through is a small courage.

  5. Republic

    6/10

A market of used goods is an old civic thing.

  6. Temperance

    4/10

The explore page is built to create a want, not to clear a closet.

  7. Truth

    6/10

A listing is a claim about an object you must then send.

  8. Stewardship

    6/10

A garment stays in use. That is stewardship, if the selling stays the point.
